When someone you love or are close to experiences the loss of a baby at any stage of pregnancy, shortly after birth or or during infancy, it is difficult to know what to do or say to comfort that person. It is not easy to know what to do or say to make the grieving parents know you care.

For many families who are expecting a very loved and wanted baby, hopes and dreams are shattered with the news that the baby has died. For the rest of the world around them, not much seems changed. But for the grieving parents something very sad and life altering has happened that needs to be acknowledged. A baby has died.

The following information is intended to help you find some ways to better acknowledge the death of a baby and communicate with parents experiencing grief.
